Interviewing: - Deeksha Chaturvedi

Hi, folks this is the first post of the year 2015, hope you might have made your resolutions, party might have been over and hangovers are done. But, rather than pushing those resolution try improving yourself in each and every field of our life. Be a good man !!!
This time we had our hands on Ms. Deeksha, CS Branch, IV year. Brilliant, hardworking and lovely by nature, more important another 8.5 pointer. I think there is some kind of relaxation for girls in the grading system. They never even consider boys. L
One thing that is important here is she lost in the Infosys battle, but she scored in Pratham Software, second highest package after Apirio. She has also cleared the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) with flying colour. This 12th she is going for her SSB.
Team MyCollegeStuffs, and I wish her a heartiest congratulation for Pratham Software and Best of Luck for her SSB. May she perform well.

We informed her in a very short span of time for this interview, being a proud daughter of a Defence Personal she readily accepted the proposal and gave us the time.
So, the most important part to be learned from her is How to not only stand up but fight up hard after been hurt badly.I learned a lot from her, hope you too.
This is how this all went.

1.     Deeksha a heartiest congratulation from me and my team and a Happyy New Year. After the disappointment from Infosys, how does it feel now Deeksha to be placed in Pratham Software?
Wish you the same Shivam and your team. I am on the top of the world after placement. I am much relaxed after being placed. I can’t even share this feeling because after Infosys I was totally distorted, but I restored myself and prepared for Pratham and nailed it.J

2.     Deeskha as Pratham has a totally different recruitment process, would your like to share with us your journey?
Yes, Shivam a totally different approach was adapted by Pratham, so I too had to prepare differently. We firstly had a test, actually a mix combo paper which had question from Data Structures, Algorithms, Data Base Management System and Programming Languages like Java and C and finally an aptitude test.
I interrupted her by: - “I would have defiantly killed myself rather than attempting that question paper, you are BRAVE Girl.”
She laughed heavily, but I was stubbed, she was still laughing. I couldn’t understand.
She continued that This was the first time Pratham surprised us by changing the recruitment process and taking the online test rather last year it used to be just interview. Presently you need to clear test first.and she takes a deep breath and said “but there was no sectional marking in the test.

3.     As, the recruitment process has been changed what was your strategy for cracking Pratham Soft.?
Pratham Software, reviews only your technical skills, so I studied hard to brush my technical skills. I went through Java, Data Base Management System, Operating System and Data Structures and Algorithms. Rather than going with books I preferred Website with readymade questions. As, they contain precise data which is required at the last time of your interview.
I would personally prefer folks to go through these website and have look at these. As, they contain direct question which are quite useful for interview. You can have look at our website to see these question for various companies.

4.     Deeksha, has something changed inside you or the surrounding environment after the placement?
Not much, but Yupp… My life has changed a bit. I lost my confidence after Infosys, I regained it with this placement. A new energy has started evolving around me. Everything feels much fresh. I can’t explain you in words Shivam.
I can surely witness that spark in her eyes. They speak out to those who doubted her after Infosys. This has really got the nerves to show.

5.     Deeskha, What next, any kind of a final touch up to your skills, or this is it? Enough of studies, now its show time.
Well, mind says this is enough, but I know from inside that I still require to repair myself before entering Pratham Soft. Although, I have not started anything till date.
Some wait and then I need to work on my aptitude, definitely.
I was confused and so are you.

6.     Deeksha any Long Term goals, or some future planning?
Being I daughter of a Defence Personal, my first and far most plan is to become an eminent DBA. And, serve for MY NATION. I cleared my AFCAT 2014 II and I am going for my SSB this 12th. Hope I do well, finger crossed”
The word “MY NATION” came so proudly from her mouth. Applause for this girl, where the world is mad for good packages, great name and luxury life, she has a dream in defence. Girl, not only I hope but I have faith in you, that one day I would be proud of myself that I took an Online Interview of a Fighter Pilot Deeksha. #Salute

7.     Well this question has no meaning when you are talking about a technical company, but still how would you weight Technical/Aptitude/Communication?
I think aptitude is the must as this is the basic requirement of every company. After that you have to be technically sound and good at communication skills. Well, this question may take marry go around because companies like Nagarro and Pratham require your technical skills to be the sharpest, whereas companies like Infosys test your communication skills only. So, choose it accordingly.

8.     Deeksha, if someone like me, or technically impaired then what would be your words?
Shut Up.! We know you are good, and will do wonders in life. And, regarding being low on technical, then one must start working on them right now. He/she should manage the course and prepare it according to the company profile.

9.     Deeksha, are you still watching for any other company or this it is P R A T H A M S O F T?
No, I am still searching for other off campus offers. One should not stop trying.
NOT STOP TRYING.

10.  Who is your idol? Or who has inspired you the most?
Aww… My idol is our former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. His fighting spirit encourages me to achieve my goals.
Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, reminds me of his book “Wings of Fire”. A must read book either you are a book worm or not.

11.  Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam, #respect man. But, was there any time when you had a sense of failure or felt depressed?

I can’t explain that day, Infosys took 182 students from our college and I was not one of those. I was not only depressed but I lost my own self. Life was torn.

Tears rolled down her eyes, she is brave, she immediately rubbed them, but I saw those pearls.
She continued in a low pitch Shivam that feeling was killing me from inside, and I was unable to share it with any one.

Always remember “Failure is just a station like success on the journey of life

12.  Is there any other recruitment incident that you want to share with us, through which we could learn?

Yaa definitely, this was the day of Infosys coming in college, as soon as the Infosys aptitude test ended I enjoyed with my friends, I was stress free, No Tension of result and fortunately I got selected in aptitude. But, the next day after being interviewed I was totally stressed and tensed and rest is history. So, through you I want to say people don’t take tension and just deliver your best and then leave everything to God.

13.  Where do you see yourself after 2 years?

If, I join Pratham then defiantly in Pratham only.

Why? Some kind of privilege being offered?

Duffer, there’s a Bond of 2 years.

Ohh.. She got senses.

14.  Finally, any kind of a tip or trick for your friends?

A small brush up to your technical skills and communication skills, on the day of drive be calm, please….....don’t get tensed because taking tension won’t help neither in your interviews nor in your online exams. Just do your best and leave everything up to God. Wish you all good luck

15.  Thanks Deeksha, for this learning Interview, under such a short time span. I learnt a lot from you. All the best for your SSB and come back with another feather in your cap, and we would again disturb you for your SSB Interview?

Actually, a thanks from my side. You gave me a platform to showcase my experience. There was so much buried under me that came out.
And thanks for the wishes Shivam, and Yaa… it would be my pleasure to share SSB experience with you.
I wish you and your readers a Happy New Year.”

This was Ms. Deeksha, (another meritorious student), IV year, CS Brach, Pratham Soft., selected. Hope, that my hard work and her experience would help you.
Thanks, and hope to meet soon, with some more stuffs.

  1. Firstly, Appreciation for your work and 2 you too Deeksha.
Secondly, "Update" as you are also facing AFSB on 6th this month. According to Arup Saha, "women are physically not suited to fly fighter planes"
